Chicken & Egg Films
Chicken & Egg Films champions women and gender-expansive documentary filmmakers with funding, mentorship and access. Founded in 2005, it has granted more than $14 million and supported over 500 filmmakers, whose films have gone on to Academy, Emmy and Peabody recognition. I led development of the organisation’s site. It is a large site with a complex structure.
CMS for a deep content structure
I designed and built the CMS for a site with a complex structure: programs, grant cycles, filmmakers, films, news and long-form articles, all linked to each other. The content model had to keep these links and still be easy for editors to use.
Search and blog engines
One search covers the whole site: filmmakers, films, programs and articles. I also built a blog engine for the organisation’s articles.
Design system
A design system for the whole site: bold display type on acid green, used the same way on every page, from grant pages to filmmaker profiles. The site keeps growing, and the design system keeps it consistent.
